Starmer’s latest u-turn!

Another day, another U-turn by Starmer!

The government has abandoned plans to delay 30 council elections in England, following advice that this could be unlawful.

Local Government Secretary Steve Reed had approved delays for the ballots until 2027, arguing some councils were worried about the cost of running elections for authorities which are due to be abolished in a major reorganisation of local government. Reform UK had launched a legal challenge against the plans to delay May’s elections, which was due to be heard in the High Court on Thursday.

Not ONLY has Reform now forced the Government to abandon their undemocratic plans to delay elections but also Government will now reimburse all Reform’s legal costs!!!! This is a humiliating defeat for the Starmer regime which does not seem to even understand the Law!

But things will get much worse for Labour because when we look at political popularity in these Council areas, it is clear that Reform are in prime position to do very well in ENGLAND, as well as in Scotland and Wales. So this will be epic in terms of scope and scale.

It has long been my view that Reform will reap the electoral benefits in May, and that Labour will suffer a major irreversible setback. The consequence will be the removal of Starmer as Labour seek to stem losses by lurching even further to the left under a new Leader. So the irony is that instead of local elections being cancelled, it is Starmer who will be cancelled and it couldn’t happen to a more deserving case.

I also agree with Nigel Farage that Local Government Secretary Steve Reed SHOULD resign given this legal about face. He won’t, of course, but this is a Government in deep trouble, incredibly unpopular and running from the electorate.
