Today is going to prove an interesting day for the Trump Presidency as it can make or break it. I have been a BIG Trump supporter since 2015 and find much to admire in the President but his actions over Iran may scuttle all that he has thus far achieved AND obliterate MAGA in the process.
First the evidence for the prosecution.
Unambigous. He called them to the streets and told them a big price would be paid by the regime if it killed them. It did kill them, by the tens of thousands and there is no doubt that Trump would have known this quickly enough. He then said this;
We know that there have been hundreds of executions.
So why is Trump talking tough and acting weak?
I don’ know but I do know but despite endless pleas from Iranians for help, today sees Trump regime negotiators meet with Iranian negotiators in Oman. The agenda appears to be about removing the Iranian nuclear threat – which Trump told us was wiped out last year as part of Operation Midnight Hammer. There is no talk of regime change and so no hope for the brave Iranian people!
Unless this is some sort of elaborate double ruse, today will see Trump lose HUGE face and reputational damage. This was never about “the art of the deal” – this was about removing the tyrants in Tehran and liberating Iran. Trump will choose a side today and many of us will then take a view if he all talk and no action.
