It is tragic that it took the brutal shooting of two National Guardsmen in Washington by an Afghan migrant to trigger President Trump into doing the right thing and effectively halting third world migration into the USA! One of those shot, Sarah Beckstrom, has died of her injuries. She was only 20.
The BBC howls..
Donald Trump has said he will “permanently pause migration” to the US from all “third world countries”.The US president wrote in a Truth Social post that the decision would “allow the US system to fully recover” from immigration policies that had eroded the “gains and living conditions” of many Americans.
This is entirely appropriate and overdue. Here is a list of the countries concerned.
13 of the 19 are majority Muslim countries and so assuredly this will be characterised as a “Muslim ban” by the liberal media, But so what? Maybe it needs to be precisely that? It is clear that most of these countries are places where human life has little value and so can we be really that surprised when they behave in a similar manner in our lands?
There are also questions we need to ask about the Washington shooter. Rahmanullah Lakanwalis the 29‑year‑old Afghan national who entered the U.S. in 2021 under Operation Allies Welcome and later sought, and was granted, asylum. He worked with the CIA, as a member of a partner force in Kandahar, Afghanistan. So what did the CIA know about him and when? Who decided he was safe to wander the streets of Washington? This was an elite Afghan killer and yet he has been given the kid gloves treatment by successive US administrations. Why?
Pausing migration from the third world is a good start but two further steps must be taken;
-
Make the ban PERMANENT
-
Start mass deportations of all foreign illegal migrants, with Somalis and Afghans at the top of the queue.
This is defining moment for the the President. I think his instincts are right but he needs to ensure that the administration follows them.
