It’s remarkable by any standards. I’m talking about a Police Officer removing an English flag from a teenage girls hands in Newcastle. Here is the incident’
Now before we go into the details there is one thing that we should be VERY clear about and it is this; it can NEVER be a crime to fly the English flag in England. If the act of flying this flag offends other groups, the problem lies with the other groups and not with those flying the flag. The pandering to the dregs of society who act offended only encourages their grievance mongery. It also is a collosal indictment on the priorities of the Police.
Now I know that the auxiliary officer concerned is in trouble and that is a plus but let’s be honest, he isn’t the first and he won’t be the last to show a total disregard for our national flag. This exposes the schism between patriotism and policing. This has been emerging in recent decades as various bad actors infiltrate and deform our Policing. For most of my life I have been an advocate for the rule of law and a supporter of the police. Many police officers do a tough job and I respect them but it’s the leadership that is the problem and its the leadership that needs root and branch reform.
Grabbing the flag, her property, and saying she cannot have it back is arguably theft. It’s the police carrying it out. Law and Order is being inverted, deliberately, and it’s simply not acceptable.
