I don’t think we should discriminate against anyone based on their skin colour. Which brings me to the problem presented by the University of Bradford.
It has a higher proportion of black and ethnic minority students than any other university in England and Wales, according to an annual guide. Students from black and ethnic minority backgrounds account for 85.5% of the university, according to The Times and the Sunday Times Good University Guide 2026, with 73.5% of entrants the first in their family to go to university.
The academic institution moved up 25 places in the guide’s overall rankings to 86th out of 130 universities. Paul Watson, the university’s director of student experience and teaching excellence, said the rankings were “clear evidence our strategy is working”.
Let’s be clear. England has an 85% white majority population. Bradford itseld has a 56% white population. So how can the University only have 15% White student population UNLESS there is some sort of discrimination or a feeling that is not a nice place for white students? The answer is we don’t know because this University is being hailed as some sort of triumph for “diversity” In this case the diversity means a minority white student population.
If we observe the entire UK University student population by ethnicity we see it is 72% white students. This is still BELOW what we should expect but it’s a lot higher than the 14.5% that Bradford University boasts about!
There should be an investigation to understand what is going on at this Unversity. We need to work out why so few white students want to go there. Maybe we could start by asking the Vice Chancellor Professor Shirley Congdon who has presided over much of this. We might ask the Chancellor of the University of Bradford is Anita Rani, yes, her.! Or maybe we could ask Imran Khan, her predecessor.
Something very rotten is going on here and it should not be celebrated in any way.
This looks like academic racism.
