This is one of the strangest stories I have come across and thought I might share it with you. In short, it is a transgender man who has converted to Islam and now identifies as a Muslim woman, claiming that Allah transcends gender. Yes, really!
Now I have to admit this is the first time I have ever heard this sort of claim. The question is – does Islam accept this idea that a man can become a woman?
As far as I can best discern, Islam upholds a gender binary rooted in Quranic teachings, assigning distinct roles to males and females under Islamic law.
It strictly prohibits deliberate changes to one’s biological sex via hormones or surgery, except for intersex individuals to conform to their assigned gender. Feelings of gender dysphoria are not sinful if not acted upon, though cross-dressing and same-sex relations remain forbidden.
So in some ways it is not that dissimilar in theory to Christianity but you do wonder what would happen this individual if HE went to a strict Muslim country. Would he survive? Can you see him strolling around a pretend woman in downtown Mogadishu?
It is my conclusion that the entire trans cult is incompatible with any established faith. I don’t wish trans people harm but I think they need professional help to cope with their cognitive dissonance.
