Perhaps you saw that the “Assisted Dying Bill” has passed through the House of Lords and edges closer to becoming Law?
“The assisted dying bill has passed its second reading in the House of Lords, moving it another step closer to becoming law. Nearly 200 peers made their views known on the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill over two days of debate. The legislation proposes allowing terminally ill adults in England and Wales, who have fewer than six months to live, to apply for an assisted death, subject to approval by two doctors and a panel made up of a social worker, senior legal figure and psychiatrist”
Let’s step back a bit and understand WHY this Labour Government is so keen to pass this Bill so very quickly. And that involves taking a look at the Fabian Society because there is a direct line here that we should all understand.
Who are the Fabians?
We are a left-leaning think tank dedicated to new public policy and political ideas. We are a membership movement, active throughout Britain and open to everyone on the left
Every Labour Prime Minister has been a Fabian. Starmer is a Fabian. The Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy is a Fabian. The Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, is a Fabian.

So, Fabians = Labour. Clear.
But there is one core historical uncomfortable Fabian belief that cannot be wished away – Eugenics.
The Fabian harboured deep links to eugenics in the early 20th century, viewing it as a scientific tool for social progress.
Prominent members like Sidney and Beatrice Webb, George Bernard Shaw, and H.G. Wells championed eugenic policies.
They thought this could “improve” the population through selective breeding and sterilisation of the “unfit,” often tied to debates on mental deficiency and empire.
What is “Assisted Dying” but a modern spin on Eugenics? Once this Bill is enacted, people will start dying. The excuse will be “terminal illness” but as we see in Canada and the Netherlands, that soon morphs into depression and before you know where you are, young healthy people start killing themselves for all kinds of reasons.
