Satanic Bishops!

I am not remotely surprised to read that the UK’s top Anglican bishop has dubbed Nigel Farage’s milquetoast plans to deport some illegal migrants as ‘not the Christian way’ and claims it is ‘beneath us as a nation’.

Archbishop of York Stephen Cottrell blasted the Reform UK leader’s proposals to ‘send them back’ as ‘not a sensible and compassionate response’. It comes amid widespread protests outside asylum seeker hotels as Labour faces major questions over the amount of illegal migrants crossing the channel and staying in taxpayer-funded accommodation. But Cottrell, who is second only to the Archbishop of Canterbury (situation vacant), said Britain ‘cannot simply close the door’ to those fleeing conflict and persecution. Dismissing Brits’ concerns over the number of illegal migrant crossings, he called for people to instead show them Christian traits of ‘compassion and understanding’.

I have a suggestion. Let’s deport this Bishop to the migrant camps on the French coast so he can administer to the spiritual needs of the inhabitants! He seems more concerned about their needs than he does the people of Leeds! Cottrell sums up all that is wrong with the Church in the COE.

And it’s not just migrant issues where the Bishop is clueless! Cottrel has confirmed in a BBC interview that he believes that sexual immorality is not sinful. What? Yes, and here is the link to prove it!

It gets worse. Here are the words of Andrea Williams, Synod Member and Chief Executive of Christian Concern who has said:

“Promoting Stephen Cottrell to Archbishop of York makes clear the direction of travel of the CofE.

“This is a Bishop who endorses gender transition in primary school children.

“Stephen Cottrell has told multiple clergy on multiple occasions that if they don’t like the approach of the diocese on human sexuality they can leave the CofE.

“Stephen Cottrell has attempted to deny this, but there are more than thirty clergy who know what they heard him say on multiple occasions.

“Stephen Cottrell has held out the prospect of the CofE doctrine of marriage changing.

“This is not a Bishop who respects Biblical truth when it comes to human sexuality or marriage.

In short, the Archbishop of York disregards Biblical teachings across a range of issues and is unfit to occupy that role!
