Is King Charles really a defender of the Muslim faith?

Even when he was Prince of Wales, Charles droned on about him being “defender of ALL faiths” when he ascended to the throne, which always struck me as odd. Here is in action when younger, heaping praise on Islam.

The British Monarch has been defender of THE faith since the time of Henry VIII and whilst it is possible to accept and be polite about all other faiths, our constitutional settlement makes the Monarch defender of the Protestant faith and head of the Church of England.

Where does the word “Defender of the Faith” come from and what does it actually mean?

In 1546, following the break from Rome, Parliament passed an act bestowing the title upon Henry and it has been used by subsequent English and then British monarchs.

Sometimes people colloquially refer to the monarch as the “head” of the Church of England. In the Bible Jesus is referred to as the head of the Church. Monarchs are known as “Supreme Governor” of the Church of England. This dates back to the 1558 Act of Supremacy, during the reign of Elizabeth I. In practice this includes giving Royal Assent to ecclesiastical laws in a similar way to secular legislation and formally approving the appointment of bishops, archbishops, and a variety of other senior clergy such as many deans of cathedrals.

However Prince Charles proved to having but a passing commitment to the tenets o the faith he was born to defend. He was unfaithful to his wife, Princess Diana, and whilst there are always two sides to every story the fact is he was quite prepared to betray her. He is now married to the woman he cheated on Diana with, and she is Queen Camilla.

Now that is King, Charles seems keen to embrace Islam. And that’s a problem since it is more than just a faith, it is an entire system that is political, educational and theological. Here is in action last week, opening a new big Islamic Centre in Oxford.

He is a Dhimmi King. What’s that, exactly? A dhimmi is a term referring to non-Muslims living under Islamic rule in exchange for loyalty and payment of a special tax called jizya, while being granted legal protection of their lives, property, and religious practice. This status offers a degree of security and self-governance within the Islamic legal framework.

Charles betrayal of Diana pales into insignificance of his betrayal of his key role as head of the Church and his people. He is a pale shadow of his Mother.
