The Notting Hill Carnival Sanitisation!

Thank goodness the Notting Hill Carnival is over and it provides us with a moment to not only reflect on what happened but more particularly what DIDN’T happen in the aftermath!

There were 349 arrests at the Carnival. 61 officers were assaulted during the “Carnival”. There were 8 stabbings, including that of Cher Maxine , who lost a huge amount of blood with one of her lungs collapsing after the attack. There were 53 held for assault on emergency workers and 72 arrests for possessing an offensive weapon.

72 hours have now elapsed since the end of “Car-ni-val” and this orgy of violence and law breaking finished and there has not been a word of condemnation from Starmer. Indeed London Mayor Sadiq Khan praised the Festival.

There have been zero 24 hour courts, no instant sentencing, no “full weight of the law” – nothing that even vaguely resembled the response to the aftermath of the Southport killings.

This is Two Tier Keir in all his hypocritical glory!

But what is that distinguishes the violence we saw during the Southport protests and those that has occurred at Notting Hill? The answer is ethnicity. The Notting Hill Carnival revels in its annual celebration of black culture. Is THAT why the violence that accompanies this annual event must not be condemned and dealt with in such a sanitised fashion? Why is black violence not met with the rigour that accompanies white violence? Shouldn’t the rule of law apply equally to all, Sir Keir?

It would seem not.
