The result of the Caerphilly by-election sends a warning across the UK and it is this; the left will unite, vote tactically and in every other way confound the prospect of Reform winning elections. This is the key lesson of what has been revealed this morning. Plaid Cymru won a clear victory, capturing a remarkable 47% of the vote, with Reform well behind on 36%. The Labour Party finished a distant third on a miserable 11% and the Conservatives were all but wiped out on a humiliating 2%. So the Labour/Conservative hegemony could only command 13% of the vote, and that’s a positive. But there are three disturbing negatives;
For starters, Plaid Cymru are basically unapologetic globalists. They welcome migrants and support open borders. Plaid Cymru is an enthusiastic supporter of net-zero carbon by 2035, which would literally blow up the Welsh economy but they don’t care. Plaid supports votes for 16‑ and 17‑year‑olds, abolition of the House of Lords, truth standards for politicians, and stronger protections for minority and LGBTQ+ rights. Plaid believes that it is possible to change gender and that this should be a right enshrined in law. It seeks more funding for Wales and wants more power for Wales. So Plaid does stand to the left of Labour, essentially communists with daffodils in their hair!
This result will encourage Labour to drift even further to the Left. It is suggested that Starmer’s “tough line” on illegal migration (!!!) cost them voted. It is also suggested that Labour must “return to traditional party values” and raise taxes and then spend more. This presents a real problem for Starmer because his back benchers want the same but it will carry a massive electoral cost in England for Labour and hand electoral advantage to Reform.
Finally, and most disturbingly, this shows that the UK axis of leftism will vote tactically to keep Reform out! Plaid even admitted this!
Plaid Cymru’s success was the result of a tactical vote, party leader Rhun Ap Iorwerth told BBC Radio Wales Breakfast and he saw plenty of evidence of tactical voting, but “nobody could deny getting half of the vote is a positive vote towards your party”.
Iorweth said he experienced hundreds and hundreds of people that have traditionally supported Labour and other parties in the past tell him they are going to back Plaid this time.
This the Labour-LibDem-Green-Your party-SNP-Conservative axis. They may differ on some points but all agree that Reform MUST be stopped. It truth this is the scale of the broader Uniparty. It will happily mutate towards Plaid in Wales, the SNP in Scotland, and the Libdems/Green axis in England.
Perhaps the greatest irony of all is that Plaid – the self styled “Party of Wales” enthusiastically support the sort of mass migration that destroy Wales. Strip away the faux nationalism and you unveil loyalty to Globalism with a sheen of communism.
There’s lovely…
