Let’s step back into the hot “brat” summer of 2024 when Kamala Harris was riding high with the biased media as the woman who would beat Trump in the November election and right by her side, future US V-P Tim Walz! The weird guy. Walz was Governor of Minnesota he desperately wanted to be seen as likeable and down to earth. But he was very weird and so was his wife. Do you remember this classic moment with Gwen?
They were planning “to turn the page on Donald Trump”, right? Wonder how that one worked out?
So anyway they lost, heavily and today Tim Walz has just announced that he is stepping down as Governor of Minnesota and that he would not seek a third term.
So the page has been turned – on him! It’s poetic.
The reason for his sudden decision to slink off into obscurity has to be linked to the Minnesota Day Care scandal. This is based on serious allegations that many child care centres, run by Somali Minnesotans, fraudulently claimed many millions in public funds while providing little or no care. A viral video by conservative influencer Nick Shirley showed apparently empty or inactive facilities that were nonetheless receiving substantial subsidies. This prompted the Trump administration to freeze federal child care payments and demand audits. In essence the scam was up and even Tim Walz acknowledged there were serious fraud issues. I remember thinking at the time what a strange choice he was and everything he said and did confirmed that this. So WHY was he chosen? Well, now we know that his State was the epicentre of massive fraud and as we all know in politics, you just follow the money!
