The Dame of Death..

Dame Ester Rantzen, she of BBC ‘That’s Life” fame, has in her final years become associated with death, and in particular “assisted suicide”. You see she is a very prominent advocate for the “End of Life” legislation being pushed by the ghouls in Labour. Let’s just recall what has happened there.

The Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill is a Private Member’s Bill was introduced by Labour MP Kim Leadbeater in 2024. It successfully passed all stages in the House of Commons, including Third Reading in June 2025 by a narrow-ish vote of 314–291. It is now progressing through the House of Lords, where Tony Blair’s bestie Lord Falconer is sponsoring it, but is faces significant opposition including filibustering tactics and over 1,200 tabled amendments. The bill is under tight timeline pressure and must complete its Lords stages by 24 April 2026 or it will fail, though it could potentially restart in the next parliamentary session. So there is REAL opposition to the Bill.

Now let’s return to Dame Ester.

Back in 2024, Dame Ester warned MPs:

“This Bill will never apply to me as I have stage four lung cancer, and my time is running out. But I am fortunate to have the choice of an assisted death in Dignitas in Switzerland.”

She gave every impression death was near. But it wasn’t. And now she is back

“Dame Esther Rantzer has heartbreakingly revealed she doesn’t have long left to live, three years after being diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. Giving a health update on Sunday, the presenter, 85, said a miracle drug which she was put on in 2024 has stopped working. Dame Esther said she is anxiously awaiting an MRI scan next week which will reveal the extent to which the cancer has spread.’

And then we get to the emotional punch.

She went on to give an emotional plea to make assisted dying in the UK legal as she talked about facing the thought of going to Dignitas, a non-profit organisation that provides physician-assisted death, in Switzerland alone.

Right, let’s be clear. Rantzen is a rancid propagandist for State sanctioned killing. Labour are keen to bring in the requisite legislation to allow people to kill themselves and Dame Ester is a poster girl for it.
