Nigel Farage and his Reform Party constitute an existential threat to the Uniparty. For over a year Reform have led in every opinion poll and by substantial margins! However you want to cut it, Farage is a likely future Prime Minister and that scares the daylights out of the British establishment.
Now then, I have my concerns about Farage and have articulated them for some time BUT that does not mean he is very popular with a lot of Brits and the scale of that will become very obvious this May when the public go to the polls. So the question is – how does the establishment STOP Farage?
Well, former Boris Johnson adviser Dominic Cummings has spelt it out….
‘They’ll leak medical and tax records, they’ll bug his phone and leak that. They’ll do anything that they need to. That will be happening across Europe and they’ll all be telling themselves they’re fighting fascism together.’
I believe he is absolutely right in what he is saying. This is the Starmer/Deep State plan – to assassinate the character of Farage (and anyone else in Reform). You’ve already seen them run the “Nigel said hurty things to others when he was a schoolboy” pysop with the BBC leading that non-story as the lead story for days. That was just the aperitif for what will come between now and May. Expect all sort of “shock horror leaks” about Farage as they seek to destroy his reputation. Politics is a dirty business at the best of times but now that the UK seems poised to reject the status quo, things will get even worse.
You may wonder why it works like this and I offer you two main reasons, money and power. Trying to preserve both of these is central to the Whitehall swamp and Cummings is right to say that they have a very small window of time to do something about it – 17 weeks to be precise. I think Farage is treading a very narrow path, saying just enough to be seen to be different but not enough to be portrayed as radical. Perhaps that is the price of winning power?
There is nothing more dangerous than a wounded animal and Labour’s strategists see what is coming so they will focus on one man – Nigel Farage.
