It’s been a while since I was last in Liverpool, I think the year was circa 2016 and I had taken my family over to the Grand National. The city had changed a lot compared to when I first went there in 1977 but it still was a Scouse city. At that time, Liverpool was home to essentially one main mosque serving its Muslim community.

However, thanks to the persistent efforts of the Home Office and contractors like SERCO in dispersing thousands of asylum seekers into the city annually, the landscape has transformed dramatically. Maps now show at least a dozen mosques and Islamic centres dotted across Liverpool, particularly clustered in central districts. This proliferation is no coincidence. Liverpool is Islamifying.
