Ban the Muslim call to prayer

Let’s pay a visit to Cardiff, Wales, shall we?

It’s not exactly the Welsh Male Voice choir but you get to hear this delight five times a day. It is of course the Adhan which is the Islamic call to prayer, usually recited by a muezzin, traditionally from the minaret of a mosque, shortly before each of the five obligatory daily prayers. It’s also a racket which rings out across other British towns and cities where there is a significant Muslim community. Bradford, for example, permits the public broadcast of this call to prayer. Leicester, Rochdale, Sheffield, Leeds, and Manchester are also reputed to facilitate it.

Apologists for the call to prayer say that it’s not really that different to Church bells peeling and that it is racist to seek to stop this being broadcast in the public realm. This is rubbish. We are a CHRISTIAN country and we should not allow Islam to publicly proclaim its territory. I see the Adhan as an expression of cultural supremacy and an assertion of dominance by a foreign ideology. By enabling this, we green light the advance of Islam and signal our cultural and religious weakness. If you go to Islamic nations, you do NOT Church bells ringing. The same should apply to Islam in the UK. Mute the Adhan.
