It’s the sheer brass neck of it that enrages me. The Iranian ambassador to the UK has just issued a warning to Sir Keir Starmer. He suggests that the Islamic Republic is actively weighing whether British military bases could become legitimate targets in the escalating Middle East conflict. That’s rich considering our RAF base in Cyprus has already been subject to attacks!
This new threat was delivered by Seyed Ali Mousavi in an interview with The Times. It follows Starmer’s decision to allow American bombers to launch strikes against Iranian territory from UK sovereign bases, including RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire and the joint UK-US facility at Diego Garcia in the Chagos Islands.
