The Green’s War on Biological Reality

The Green Party is being endlessly promoted by the media as the “current thing” and we face the real possibility that it could hold significant political power in 2029. So it is interesting to note that it is taking legal action against women who believe, (rightly), that there are only two genders and that yes, that women do not have a penis.
The Green Party may have started off as an environmental party but it appears to have shifted toward the authoritarian enforcement of transgender ideology, sidelining and punishing gender-critical members—particularly women. This stance directly contradicts the recent unanimous UK Supreme Court ruling which confirmed that “woman” and “sex” in the Equality Act 2010 refer to biological categories, not gender identity.
The Green Women’s Declaration, a group of gender-critical Green members, has launched legal action against the party for discrimination. For over two years, they claim that members have faced suspensions, expulsions, and outright hostility for defending single-sex spaces or even questioning policies like self-identification.
A leaked 53-page internal dossier from the party’s own lawyers admits unlawful conduct in disciplinary processes against those holding protected gender-critical beliefs. Financially, the fallout is severe: the party spent £190,000 on related legal battles in 2024 and budgeted £350,000 for 2025-2026, totalling around £540,000 over three years. That’s a lot of cash being paid out in legal fees!
Let’s look at few examples of this alleged discrimination.
High-profile cases include former Green Deputy Leader Dr. Shahrar Ali, who was removed as a spokesperson for stating biological sex realities; an employment tribunal later ruled his dismissal procedurally unfair, resulting in a settlement and ongoing litigation.
Then there was Emma Bateman, a former Co-Chair of Green Party Women, who endured repeated suspensions for remarks such as questioning a party officer’s biological sex, defending single-sex spaces, and sarcastically responding to “fae/faer” pronouns (used by someone identifying as a fairy). LOL – can you believe that!!!! Disciplinary panels labeled her comments “insensitive,” “bullying,” and “disparaging.” To Fairies.
Leadership figures like Zack Polanski have dismissed the Supreme Court judgment as “thinly veiled transphobia,” declared “transphobia” a “red line” warranting expulsion, and claimed people are “not necessarily” born male or female. Problem is, that’s the law and Zack does not get to decide it.
In short, the Greens are demanding compelled speech—treating subjective identities (even fantastical ones like fairies) with the same legal weight as biological reality—while silencing dissent. But why would they prioritise this?
Well, they say that you should follow the money and it is possible that the Greens are in receipt of £££’s from billionaire-funded foundations such as the Arcus Foundation (a major global transgender advocate), the NoVo Foundation, Stonewall, and George Soros’s Open Society Foundations. These entities have poured millions into transgender advocacy and it would not surprise me that their dark money may be driving this.
Either way, the Green Party can be seen to defying the law and reality. You can see why the BBC is such an ardent advocate.
