Elon Musk said it well in this social media post;
This was in response to the successful appeal by the Government to stop the Migrant Hotel in Epping Forest closing for migrants. The Court of Appeal did exactly what I feared it would do.
Judges rule asylum seekers can stay at a hotel in Epping, Essex, after the government wins a court appeal Almost 140 men staying at the Bell Hotel were previously ordered to leave by mid-September – but senior judges overturned another court’s decision, seriously criticising their judgement.
Now this legal process is not complete yet but every realist sees what has just happened in the UK. The Government has gained legal backing to prioritise the needs of migrants above local citizens.
And that is what has prompted Elon’s post.
In fact he followed it up with another strongly worded post…
He makes a great point. If we accept that our Government can get away with placing illegal migrants in Hotels in the middle of our communities, with the attendant risks to women and girls (and even men) then we will accept anything. We will become serfs awaiting our demise.
The number one priority of any Government is the safety of its own people. This Government has inverted that and has placed the safety of illegal migrants above that of its own people. The UK already was a tinderbox but now that looks like it may catch fire and if it does responsibility lies entirely with this totalitarian regime.
The next few days will be critical. It’s time we reflected on these words spoken in the House of Commons by Oliver Cromwell on 20 April 1653.
“It is high time for me to put an end to your sitting in this place,
which you have dishonoured by your contempt of all virtue, and defiled by your practice of every vice.
Ye are a factious crew, and enemies to all good government.
Ye are a pack of mercenary wretches, and would like Esau sell your country for a mess of pottage, and like Judas betray your God for a few pieces of money.
Is there a single virtue now remaining amongst you? Is there one vice you do not possess?
Ye have no more religion than my horse. Gold is your God. Which of you have not bartered your conscience for bribes? Is there a man amongst you that has the least care for the good of the Commonwealth?
Ye sordid prostitutes have you not defiled this sacred place, and turned the Lord’s temple into a den of thieves, by your immoral principles and wicked practices?
Ye are grown intolerably odious to the whole nation. You were deputed here by the people to get grievances redressed, are yourselves become the greatest grievance.
Your country therefore calls upon me to cleanse this Augean stable, by putting a final period to your iniquitous proceedings in this House; and which by God’s help, and the strength he has given me, I am now come to do.
I command ye therefore, upon the peril of your lives, to depart immediately out of this place.
Go, get you out! Make haste! Ye venal slaves be gone! So! Take away that shining bauble there, and lock up the doors.
In the name of God, go!”
Nothing has changed.
