On Monday of this week, Reform UK suggested that it would be prepared to deport around 600,000 illegal migrants over five years. if it won power at the next election. Reform UK leader Nigel Farage said “everybody on arrival would be detained” For further clarity he added that ALL illegal migrants would be deported. “All means all”
On Tuesday, Zia Yusuf, a key architect of the party’s deportation plan, suggested it could deport unaccompanied minors in the “latter half” of the proposed five-year scheme. But leader Nigel Farage clarified this was not currently part of Reform’s plans for a potential first term in office.
Clear? I’m not.
So the 600,000 won’t be 600,000 because any women and children in that number won’t be deported after all. They get to stay. Isn’t this an incentive for even MORE illegal migrants who are women or children to come here?
Turns out “deporting all migrants” means deporting some. Others stay.
Is this the decisive leadership that you want on this issue?
It seems to me that the Reform leadership melts when any heat is applied and at this stage, Farage has voluntarily abandoned the idea of deporting illegal migrants who are female or “children” in order to keep good PR with the legacy media.
It’s weak sauce my friends. We deserve better.
We should deport ANYONE who came to this country illegally. It doesn’t matter their gender or age. If Reform won’t do that, they need to step aside. Slick PR is no substitute for meaningful policy.
