University is a SCAM!

When I first went to University in the late 1970s around one in ten 18 year olds made that academic journey. Now it is one in three. Not only that but when I went my parents got a small grant to pay for my Hall fees, I think it was about £300 a year. Nowadays, new students are charged £9,535 per year for the alleged benefit of a University education. This is a scandal.

When I went to University, graduates could command a premium in the employment market even if it was tough to land one. I was lucky. But look at what has been going on in recent decades and the scam becomes all too apparent.

Further, it has been reported that more than 630,000 graduates in the UK are claiming Universal Credit, according to official figures.

So the average student leaves University with a £53,000 debt and a minimal chance of commanding a salary premium over those young people who decided on other paths. The reality is that few students will ever pay this debt back and so it will ultimately fall to the taxpayer. Meanwhile the Universities get filthy rich. Lecturers get paid around £48k and Professors £85k. And if you become a Vice Chancellor? That’s a nifty £350k a year.

The value of academic courses has also been dramatically reduced. When I was at University, the Economic and business school was one of the largest. A few years ago, I spoke to a retired lecturer who told that Media Studies now dwarfed Economics. Furthermore we have seen utterly useless “Gender Studies” “Queer Theory” and “Understanding Racism” on the study list. In other words, the Universities are now corrupted academically and financially.

Can you guess who the Chancellor is of my Alma Mater? Yes…

Many kids will do better if they AVOID University entirely.

The only reason to go to such is you want to pursue a career that requires specialist learning.

“University, he said quietly. It sounded like a dream; it tasted like damnation.”
