Immigration is seen by many in the UK as the biggest problem that we face. We have had millions of people pouring into the UK over the past decade and our communities are being warped out of all recognition. What to do about it?
Well, let’s FIRSTLY consider the views of Robert Jenrick who hopes to become the next Conservative leader in a few weeks time.
If he wins through next month and makes it to No 10 in four years’ time, the Rwanda scheme will be back. And he makes a startling new pledge to kick out ‘all’ those living in the UK illegally – a plan which could see a future Tory government attempt to remove up to a million people.
So he is going to “kick out” up to 1 million migrants by flying them to Rwanda? That’s so laughable that no one can take it seriously. In order to fly even ONE illegal migrant to Rwanda he would have to force the leaving of the ECHR. That could be done but only if he has a big majority in the Commons and even then only over time. So the truth is that you are very unlikely to ever see it happen. This is just snake oil to make him seen “tough” and “right wing” when he simply conniving to gain the position of Leader!
Now, let’s consider the views of Nigel Farage whose Reform Party is seen as very hawkish on the issue. In an interview with Steve Edginton of GB News recently, Farage spoke at length about the “exploding” numbers of migrants crossing the Channel into Britain, and admitted that his “ambition” is not to mass deport them. Got that?
He has no desire to deport anyone already here.
So neither the Conservatives OR Reform will do anything to deport the 1.6m already here and whose presence is putting unbearable strain on our public services as well as atomising communities. And in the meantime there numbers will escalate higher.
In a way, we should not expect the Conservatives to do anything to deal with the problem that they helped cause BUT the supine weakness of Farage is surprising.
