1984 in 2025

Why did George Orwell call his novel “1984”? It wasn’t the original title after all, because that was going to be “The Last Man in Europe”. For some reason, maybe pressure from his publisher?, he changed it to “Nineteen Eighty Four” and then it was further refined to “1984”. It was published in 1948 so maybe they just swapped the last two digits? We can’t say why but that book is one of the most significant ever written and I still recall the first time I read it and the chill that went down my spine. It is all about the subjugation of the individual to the all powerful State.

Let’s now talk about yesterday because that was the day that Britain moved a big step further into the dystopian world of 1984. You see, yesterday was the day the Online Safety Act went live and the change was dramatic. We were sold this draconian invasion of our privacy on the basis it would stop children seeing porn on-line. Here’s an example of what is now in place..

Now, you may think this is a good idea, I don’t and here’s why.

It is NOT for Government to dictate what we get to see. It is for PARENTS to control what their children see and devolving this to the State seems wrong to me. I full appreciate that most normies will think “Yes, but porn is bad so this is good” and support the restrictions. However, this absolves the parent of a core responsibility. I think we are being gaslit into accepting the State controlling on-line activity and restricting freedom.

The whole “we have to protect kids by making everyone prove their age” schtick has another consequence which became apparent last night.

The reality is that ANY content deemed unfit for persons under 18 now requires you to upload PHOTO ID of yourself to prove your age. And people soon found this out if they were following protests outside Migrant Hotels such as one in Leeds. This is the message they received if they were unverified on X.

Got that? You either PROVE your ID or you don’t get to see protest against Government policy! THAT, my friends, is what this is really all about. The only way X can estimate your age is if you verify it by identifying yourself. The right to Anonymity just vanished.

Big Brother is now watching us, or so he thinks.

However, there is an antidote. A VPN.

At present if you are OUTSIDE the UK then you can watch the protests against migrants as this is not a global requirement, yet.
