The British Government is threatening calling a December election to the Northern Ireland Assembly UNLESS the DUP return to the Executive. But the DUP won’t countenance this until the pernicious issue of the Northern Ireland protocol is fixed. This Protocol keeps Northern Ireland in the EU Single Market and subject to the ECJ.
