Published in February 1999, the report into the killing of teenager Stephen Lawrence – the Stephen Lawrence Report – proved to be the death knell for British Justice. All of a sudden, we had a novel concept of ”hate crimes” instead of just crime, and we had systemic corruption covered up by ”systemic racism”. This has proven utterly corrosive to British Justice.
